Knowledge At Our Finger Tips

In the reign of the Persia King Cyrus, Daniel the Jewish Babylonian leader and prophet, received a message from God that during the time of the end “many will rush here and there, and knowledge will increase.”  In other words, speed of movement and availability of information, shall advance at a rate previously unimaginable.  This was a message of predicted reality, not a message of good or bad.  It appears that Daniel’s prophecy of 2,600 years ago is becoming our daily reality.  Within hours, we are able to fly anywhere in the world.  Faster supersonic flights are again being researched and developed (to say nothing of virtual travel to those once far-away places).  Search engines of enormous storage capacity and instant recall are transforming the dissemination of knowledge.  We go online to learn how to build a storage shed or to understand the capabilities of drones.  Knowledge at our finger tips!

Twenty-first century developments are being utilized in the worldwide spread of the message of the Gospel – the good news of Christ’s coming to “seek and save the lost.”  I was recently reading up on the now rapid translation of Scriptures into the languages of the world.  According to Seed Company, key players in the Bible translation movement, there remains 1,671 languages that need at least partial Scriptures translated into their mother tongue.  With the technological tools that are being developed, the speed of Bible translation is light-years ahead of twenty years ago.  It is now reasonable to expect that within less than ten years the remaining language groups without the Scriptures shall have their Scriptures in process.  The Word of God in the hands and hearts of the whole earth!  We are living in a fantastic era in which God is mightily at work through His servants!  Now is the time to become intentionally and increasingly involved in the mission of God.  What is the mission?  Participating in God’s plan that one day “at the name of Jesus every knee should bow…and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
