“Life is easy when you’re up on the mountain, and you’ve got peace of mind like you’ve never known.
But then things change and you’re down in the valley. Don’t lose faith for you’re never alone. You talk of faith when you’re up on the mountain. Oh but the talk comes easy when life’s at its best. But it’s down in the valley of trials and temptation. That’s when faith is really put to the test. For the God on the mountain is still God in the valley. When things go wrong, He’ll make it right. And the God of the good times is still God in the bad times. The God of the day is still God in the night.” (Tracy Dartt).
The kindness, care and prayers of the family of God, specifically the NorthLife congregation, has been sustaining us. She is making rapid progress. Praise the Lord and all her medical attendants!
These lyrics have reassured for my wife and I throughout our journey together. So again these past two weeks. My wife had a life-threatening heart episode. She was revived and taken by ambulance to the Northern Lights Regional Hospital of Fort McMurray. Our two children arrived to be with their mother. The kindness, care and prayers of the family of God, specifically the NorthLife congregation, has been sustaining us. She is making rapid progress. Praise the Lord and all her medical attendants!
Unforeseen crises sooner or later come our way. How we respond shall determine whether we get better or bitter. Often it takes time to develop an attitude of acceptance and step into the future with faith. There is a tendency to get tunnel vision when we face trials, looking only at the immediate. Yet, the child of God has a deep settled assurance that, the God of the day is still God in the night. We must lift up our eyes of faith and look unto Jesus. Whatever we are facing today, we are not alone: the way through is family, the faith community and our ever-present Lord.
