Five rivers flow through Fort McMurray, Alberta. These are the Athabasca, Clearwater, Horse, Christina, and Hangingstone Rivers. Additionally there is The Syne, a waterway used for float planes, boat launchings, winter skating events and other community enjoyment. Presently a major redevelopment of The Snye waterfront area is underway. The revitalization will include a marina, pedestrian and cyclist trails, beach and supporting facilities. There is something about water that captivates communities. Water draws, water inspires, water refreshes and water sustains life and enhances living!
It is our privilege and calling to touch lives for Christ who in turn will take the life-giving message wherever they go into this world.
As a church, NorthLife Fellowship Baptist, acts as a river that flows through Fort McMurray. For sixty years, since its beginnings in 1955, it has been a source of spiritual refreshment for countless numbers of people. God has used this church to reach out to all nations. God has been faithful in saving many souls who have gone on to be baptized and become active servants of Christ. The river of life that flows from God has passed through the followers of Christ into the lives of others. Let each of us continue to be waterways supplying daily spiritual blessings to others. It is our privilege and calling to touch lives for Christ who in turn will take the life-giving message wherever they go into this world. What a great church and a beautiful city through which to bless our neighbours and better the world. Jesus said, “Those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. I becomes a fresh bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” Flow river flow!
