Can you Imagine?

"And the angel said to them,

“Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” [1]

Can you imagine? What an incredible experience! Imagine camping under the stars on a beautiful starlit night.  You are enjoying the outdoors, talking with your friends… and suddenly an angel appears! (Can you imagine being an angel?) After overcoming your adrenaline rush of fear you hear the message—an astounding message!  The Saviour of the world is born and you have a personal invitation to see Him!  And then your experience is concluded with the heavenly host (how many is that?) praising God and saying “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

Can you imagine? In a way, we don’t have to imagine.  It is Christmas! It is the time of year that has been given to us who have believed in Jesus Christ as our Saviour, to share the greatest gift (the resurrected Jesus Christ) with the world around us just as the angels did for the Shepherds.  Let’s pray that God will direct us to someone this Christmas who is waiting to hear a personal invitation to worship Jesus Christ the Saviour of the world.  Let us rejoice and share the good news! Let us praise God and say “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

Maybe this is your chance to be an angel (a messenger) of God this Christmas. Can you imagine?
