From coast to coast to coast Canadians have been rallying behind the Blue Jays Baseball team. After a not so encouraging two game loss on home turf, the Blue Jays have gone on to clinch the American League Divisional Series. The seventh inning of the fifth game was unbelievably long and heated! From the Rogers Center in Toronto to scores of gatherings in clubs and homes, our nation joined in the joys and defeats of the blue push! Of course, the ultimate would be the World Series!
On a much grander scale with far greater consequences, we do know the ultimate outcome as to the victory and reign of the One Whom we worship and adore.
In addition, we are experiencing the final countdown of Canada’s Election 2015. Who will form the next government? Who will be the Prime Minister of Canada? How will the House of Commons look after October 19th? Party foot soldiers are canvassing houses, party advertisements are splashed on media and flyers. Journalists and commentators are vying for their perspectives. Elections rally people around issues and causes. We are privileged to live in a nation where we may choose to vote.
As I write this blog, the outcomes of both the Blue Jays Baseball team as to the World Series and the Canadian Federal Election as to the formation of our next National Government are both yet to be determined. The outcomes are uncertain yet we shall know soon.
On a much grander scale with far greater consequences, we do know the ultimate outcome as to the victory and reign of the One Whom we worship and adore. I am speaking of Jesus, the Lord. Scriptures inform us that, “God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11). Peter summarized, “There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12). Place your faith squarely in Jesus, rally around Him and when the dust settles, we shall stand in victory!
