“God loves His Son and has a wonderful plan for Him, to bring all the nations to His feet as Lord of all, and He loves you and me enough to give us a place in it.” (David Bryant). When I first discovered this quote (and later met its author) my life took on an even sharper focus. We often attempt to discover the plan of God for our lives. In a sense, that is perfectly okay. The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” (Psalm 32:8 NLT). Yet it appears to me that ‘guidance’ becomes blurry when we get our eyes off the ultimate true-north compass point, which is the fact that until we desire what God desires, our desires will be frustrated. And what does God desire? That all the nations will come to worship Jesus, His Son, as Lord of all. (Philippians 2:9-11).
The 2016 NorthLife Nations budget encompasses the First Nations of Western Canada, the Francophones of Canada as well as Nations in Central America, Central Asia, East Africa, Eastern Europe and Western Europe.
The vision statement of NorthLife reflects this guiding principle. NorthLife is a family of nations loving God together. When our heads and our hearts, our wills and our emotions, our attitudes and our actions wrap themselves around the nations, we begin to align with God’s plan “to bring all the nations to His feet.” Recently it was again my privilege to have an early morning meeting with our church’s Missions Team. The financial realities of NorthLife for our Missions “Nations” outreach is a significant $240,000 this year of 2016. That is nearly one quarter of a million dollars, $4,616 dollars each week. This commitment can only be met by we who invest in NorthLife Church in a very practical and financial way. We are saying by our financial giving that it matters that we cooperate with God in His plan of pointing the nations to Christ. “It is more blessed to give than to receive” and we need to learn to give what we have received from the Hand of the One who loves His Son and has a wonderful plan for Him.” The 2016 NorthLife Nations budget encompasses the First Nations of Western Canada, the Francophones of Canada as well as Nations in Central America, Central Asia, East Africa, Eastern Europe and Western Europe.
